PTA is a full service, custom plastic injection
molder. For low-volume runs, it is often more
cost-effective to have assembly done by
hand, rather than incur automation equipment costs.
This animation shows the installation and
securing of a spring into a pre-loaded position.
It's just one example of using hand labor
effectively. By assigning low-volume hand
assemblies and sub-assemblies to PTA,
clients add value to their molded parts and
free up their labor resources. Our project
teams can develop the most efficient combination
of operations to save production,
inventory and shipping costs.
Animate Thermal Insertion Sequence
PTA can do permanent insertions through a
number of procedures depending upon the
product requirements. Often, thermal insertion
is the ideal option. This animation shows the
simultaneous thermal insertion of 64 brass
inserts for a highly sophisticated marine
device. Most molders would be challenged by
the project's difficulty, due to both the volume
of inserts and the requirement to insert on
multiple planes. PTA's full-service in-house
tool shop allows us to create our own thermal
insertion tooling fixtures so clients can always
get the exact assembly they desire. In addition,
thermal insertion is a dust-free insertion -
unlike ultrasonic welding which requires an
additional step to eliminate brass dust particles
caused by the process.
Animate Pad Printing Sequence
Pad printing
has become one of the most sought after methods for applying graphics on parts. PTA's facilities are designed to have the
printing done right at the molding site, adding
value without the cost or trouble of outsourcing.
It is imperative to our clients given their
technical fields - including medical, computers,
business equipment, telecommunications,
and security - that all ink transfers be of
the highest quality. Whether a logo or artwork,
instructional icon or warning indicator, PTA's
extensive experience will result in the application
of crisp, clean images.
